Directions and Parking Details |
| From Exmouth follow the signs for Budleigh Salterton. Ignore the turning for East Budleigh and follow the road down through the town. The beach is at the bottom end of the town. Follow the road along the Seafront and up the hill at the far end. The entrance to the car park is near the top of the hill by the large stone cross. Be sure to park within the marked bays, and to pay for enough time as the traffic wardens are extremely enthusiastic! |

Site Description |
|
A long pebble beach with a fairly steep slope. A few yards out
from the shore the pebbles come to an abrupt end and the bottom changes to
sand. There is not normally a lot of life on the sand and it is not a very
interesting dive. The reef runs parallel to the shore and can be missed if you
are unlucky - The best way to dive this site is to do a surface swim for about
25m straight out from the shore. Drop down to the sea bed (about 3m) and carry
on out to sea until you find the reef. The reef is teaming with life. There
are numerous fish crabs and lobsters on the reef and it is a fantastic dive.
The Lobster pots are an indication of the reefs location Care must be taken as there can be quite strong currents running along the beach |

A great site with plenty of parking. Although it is an effort to get down to the sea and a long swim out to the reef your efforts will be rewarded with a great dive. |
